I recently saw Marty Supreme, directed by Josh Safde and had a rollercoaster of a time. While a majority of the focus of this film has been on Timmy-T's performance (which is good, btw), it's the minute-to-minute spectacle that made this such an engaging watch. Josh Safde knows how to keep you wondering what will happen next as things continue to spiral out of control.

The choices characters (mostly Marty) make got visceral reactions out of me usually found during horror movie viewings. There was always another basement to go into, another monster chasing our protagonist who in this case usually deserves what's coming to him. That being said, the charisma that Timmy brings to the character is able to balance the utter disgust caused by his actions; taking advantage of every other character in the film–sometimes for his own gain, sometimes for kicks, but usually just for his own gain.

There are certainly countless comparisons to be made between this and Josh's last film with his brother Benny, Uncut Gems. All I'll say is that this was far more similar to that than I anticipated, though I had a much easier time on the joyride feuled by Marty's ambition, arrogance, charm, and talent than I did with the literal gamble everything until you win and then gamble that until you lose nightmare that wass Adam Sandler's Howard.

Final thoughts on this one: Fuck Kevin O'Leary.
